So last week officers in Atlanta killed a man by the name of Rayshard Brooks.

They say they were responding to a DUI and that Rayshard was asleep in his vehicle in a Wendy’s drive through. That’s pretty drunk!

Here’s the rundown of today’s murder charge against the officer that killed him. The typical American respons of those that haven’t read the article? “BULLSHIT!” – And to the whole thing I ask WHAT THE FUCK?

Here’s the list of facts. See if you can find the fuck in all of it!

– The DA said they reviewed 41 minutes of dash and body cam footage in which Rayshard was compliant and calm.

– Rayshard was not under arrest.

-When the officer went to handcuff Rayshard, he refused and freaked out.

– There was a struggle. He grabbed the officer’s taser and ran. The officers chased.

– Rayshard turned around while running, fired the taser, and then turned to continue running.

– The DA concluded that Rayshard was no longer a threat at this point.

– The officer, claiming he “feared for his life“, discharged his weapon striking Rayshard.

– After Rayshard collapsed to the ground, unarmed, the officer came up to him and kicked him.

– The officer did not call for an ambulance to treat the gunshot wounds right away.

– The officer admits that he stood on Rayshard’s body.

– Rayshard died from blood loss due to the wounds.

– The 2nd officer is testifying against the first.

I see a lot of people calling “bs” to the murder charge, including officers. Every black man in the country knows that any threat at all against an officer verbal or suggestive is a threat against an officer’s life. Even a garbage picker.

Yet here I am trying to figure out how an officer can be afraid of someone that was not under arrest. How can you cuff someone whom you are not arresting? How can you do that to a demographic that historically sees abuse of force and murder by law enforcement and not expect that person to be more afraid of you than you are of it?

For me, that’s the fuck.
